Synthesizers don't fail all the time

When listening to the opening seconds of this song for the first time I wanted to stop it immediately. The synthesizer led intro is not really my cup of tea. But just before I switched it off, the synthesizer went to the background and was replaced by a solid male lead. "Never Seen God Fail" is from 1984 and although gospel was a bit later than most other musical genres, at that time electronics had taken over on most recording sessions real musical instruments.
In the late seventies/early eighties "The Gates of Heaven" (or was it a different group???) recorded one album titled "Little Wooden Church" (Private Pressing). In the minimal liner notes on that album it is stated that The Gates of Heaven started singing in 1942.
So far I haven't found any other gospel release on the Dytown label.
