The Salem Travelers - Wade In The Water
"Wade In The Water" has been recorded by many gospel artists through the years. And not only gospel artists have recorded "Wade in The Water". Chess/Checker label mates of the Salem Travelers like Marlene Shaw and Ramsey Lewis also made very succesfull versions of "Wade In The Water". Everyone has his/her own personal favourite version. Mine is by the Salem Travelers, who recorded this great song on their "Children Gone Astray" album (Checker 10061). Salem Travelers recorded a couple of albums for Checker in the early seventies before moving on to Nashboro by the end of the seventies.
