McDermott Singers - I Feel The Spirit

The McDermott Singers sung background vocals on Aline White's "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" we featured yesterday. The McDermott Singers were another Pontchartrain artist, just like the Zion Harmonizers and God's Chosen Few.
"Thank You Lord For One More Day" is the debut album of the McDermott Singers, recorded in 1975 (Pontchartrain Records LP 141). The McDermott Singers were first organized as a group in January of 1973 at a New Orleans high school.  The group's dircetor and organist is Raymond Anthony Myles.
"I Feel The Spirit" is a beautiful gospelised version of Aretha's "Spirit In The Dark".  For another gospelised version of "Spirit In The Dark" check the review of Emma Creamer's "Move With The Spirit" album at the website.
