Tennessee Hummingbirds - You Brought Me From A Mighty Long Way

This is our second visit to the Prophecy label out of Memphis, Tennessee. In a previous post we've paid visit to Eloise Polk. There will be more on Prophecy in the coming days and weeks. Prophecy was owned by Bill Glore who also had another label, Glo-Lite. Glo-Lite is a R&B label while Prophecy was strictly gospel. Prophecy issued somewhere between 5 and 10 45s in the first half of the seventies.
The Tenessee Hummingbirds are totally unknown to me, and as far as I know, their Prophecy 45 is their only recording. "You Brought Me From A Mighty Long Way" is a very beautiful piece of deep-soul-gospel lasting for close to six minutes.
