Gospel At Goldwax?

Dynamic Hughes Singers - He's Waiting

According to the R&B Indies the PMI label owners were Quinton Claunch and Rudolph "Doc" Russell.  Unfortunately this 45 isn't mentioned in the PMI discography in the R&B Indies.
When listening to it, it certainly sounds as if it could have been a genuine Goldwax release. I think "He's Waiting" is recorded at the famous American studios were many of the Goldwax 45s  were recorded.
Besides recording this one 45 on PMI the Dynamic Hughes Singers recored one 45 for Designer (6913) as the Dynamic Hughes Gospel Singers. I don't know if they are also the Dynamic Gospel Singers who recorded HSE 506. Perhaps any one of you can clarify this?

    Cies,
This is a piece, with a great story. I had no idea that Quinton Claunch and Doc Russell were involved in any gospel recording. The instrumentalists don't sound like the group on the "classic" Goldwax recordings, but it certainly could have been recorded at American Studios. I wonder who the producer "J. Hughes" is?
    VERY intriguing!

    J. Hughes isn't Jimmy Hughes who recorded for Fame. J. Hughes is most likely Jerry Hughes as Jerry is the guy who sings lead on their Designer 45.

    Cies,
I e-mailed both Mike Leech and Bobby Emmons about this, but neither could help. Here is what Bobby had to say about it:

I can't find anything about that in my memory, on google or BMI!! Doesn't
mean it didn't happen though, I never say anything for sure
    anymore.............

Good to hear from you all, and sorry I can't help,

J hughes name does not ring a bell, nor does the recording artist or
title. It's quite possible we made that recording but nothing about it
    seems familiar (to me).
    thanks,
    mike

    Sorry, I tried...

I am very familiar with the Dynamic Hughes Singer. The music that's being played in today gospel, was music the Hughes singers were producing long before this generation. The Dynamic Hughes Singers are an exceptional
group. Thanks to the parents for pushing and forseeing a blessing within the family.
