Jackson Southernaires - Steal Away
Jackson Southernaires - Steal Away

The Jackson Southernaires are one of the most important gospel groups of the 1970s and 1980s. They are responsible for the fact that Malaco records started to issue gospel music and becoming one of the market leaders. The Jackson Southernaires didn't want to go to Los Angeles anymore for recording sessions. So they asked Malaco, based in their hometown of Jackson, Miss if it was possible to record for them. And so it happened.
Today we're listening to "Steal Away" a song of their third and last 1974 Songbird album titled "Look Around" (Songbird LP 249). At the time of recording the group was made up of Huey Williams, Franklin Williams, Paul Peters, James Burkes, Luther Jennings and Nathaniel Baldwin.
