Evans Gospel Singers - I Have Heard So Much Talk About Jesus

We continue our series of "Family Gospel Groups" with the Evans Gospel Singers. Eddie Evans (father, group leader, lead guitar), Veria Evans (pastor and wife), and their sons Eddie Jr (lead guitar), Alexander (bass guitar), and Charles (second lead singer) established their group in 1969. A later additon to the group was their recently adopted son Shawn Taylor. The group was completed by uniting another family to the grouop, which consisted of Willie Jackson (evangelist) and his wife Carol Jackson (third lead singer).
Their only album "A Confused Society In A Blessed World" (Professional Artist LP 7933-210) is one of those typical DIY albums we love here at Just Moving On. "I Have Heard So Much Talk About Jesus"  has some wonderful guitar and bass playing. Listen how leadsinger Eddie Sr encourages his son after about 2 1/2 minutes, "take it away son".
We still want to hear who your favourite Family Gospel Group is. Please add your favourites in the comments section.

    Hey Cies -

You already know who my fave 'family' group is, The Pearly Gates, who have been made-up of Sister Lucille Pope's extended family since day one.

I'm loving this one, though! thanks!

I love the broke down country and western-ish sounds of the Hopson Family. Also, the Traveling Echoes (Ridley family) were about as funky as gospel can get. I plan to do a CaseQuarter Traveling Echoes comp soon.
