Golden Stars - Jesus' Blood

                 
About a week ago I uploaded the Pitch and Gusman discographies to the website. Expect several Pitch/Gusman tracks in the coming days. We start with the first 45 issued by Pitch/Gusman owner Waymon Jones. "Jesus' Blood" was released in 1961, but group members told gospel collector Per Notini that it was probably recorded in 1955, as Turner left the group in 1956. Norris Turner recorde in the 1970s as a solo artist for HSE. The Golden Stars of Greenwood, SC recorded seven 45s and one album for Pitch. In their early days, that is in the days with Norris Turner, they also recorded one 45 for Sullivan. We don't know if they are also the Golden Stars who recorded for Finch. The Golden Stars who recorded for HLF, Skyway, Champ, Crusade, and Charioteer are entirely different groups from the Golden Stars of Greenwood, SC we're listening today.
