Seven Stars of Jackson, MS - Wait For Jesus
Seven Stars, but eight men on the picture. What's happening? I don't know and there are no linernotes at the back of the album answering this question. All I know is that The Seven Stars of Jackson, Mississippi recorded one album for J&B. "I Found Jesus" (J&B LP0017) was released in 1977. I don't know if they were the same group who recorded the album "Wait Till Jesus Comes" for Su-Ann (SA-1761). When listening to today's song "Wait For Jesus" you will hear the Seven Stars sing 'wait till Jesus comes'.
Cies--I'm pretty sure this is the same group that recorded at least one 45 for the Delta label (Jackson, MS) sometime around 1970(?)maybe. There is an out print P-Vine CD "Rock the Church" that collects some Delta 45s and that has an early 1960s photo of a Seven Stars group on the cover. The CD includes the Seven Stars 45 The Man is Alright / I Know the Lord. If you don't have I'll send you mp3s.

Thanks for the information. John Glassburner has mailed me a photo and a mp3 of the Seven Stars who recorded for Su-Ann. Looking at the photos it's the same group. I don't have anything on the Seven Stars who recorded for Delta. MP3s and photos are welcome. I will use them for a blog entry in the future and when I'm convinced that I have a (almost) complete discography of the group I might even make a bio/disco page on the website about them.
