Rev. Willie Morganfield - Lord I Need Thee
Rev. Willie Morganfield - Lord I Need Thee

Willie Morganfield was the first gospel artist who had a record released at Stan Lewis' Jewel Shreveport, Louisiana label in 1966. Before Jewel he had releases on J&W out of Detroit, and Acquarian from Stuttgart, Arkansas in the early sixties. Prior to his solo recordings Mississippi born Morganfield had been a member of The Kings of Harmony in the late 1940s. Willie was drafted into the Army in October, 1950. What he did after leaving the army, I don't know.
Morganfield released 8 albums on Jewel. "Lord I Need Thee" is taken from the album "While I Can" (Jewel LP0072).
