Sensational Brown Brothers - Save A Sinner Like You And Me

Yesterday I wrote that The Jackson Southernaires produced several artists while at Malaco. One of the artists they produced were the Sensational Brown Brothers. The Sensational Brown Brothers originally hailed from Florence, South Carolina. One by one, all the nine brothers migrated to Washington,D.C. The nine brothers are: Sam, Franklin, Preston, Arthur, George, Bobby, Henry, Billy and Nathaniel. "Save A Sinner Like You And Me" is taken from the album "Lord You Spared Me Over" (Malaco LP 4360) which was recorded in 1978/79 at the Malaco Studios in Jackson, Mississippi. In the late seventies they also recorded the album "If I Can Help Somebody" on MRC, and 2 albums on HSE. In the 1980s they issued two more albums, one on Gospel Time titled "Mothers Prayer" and one on New Birth with the title "At The Cross".

I love this group. I grew up watching them rehearse and perform on different venues in the north and in the south. I was totally shocked when I pulled up this web site. Thanks for showing me this picture I never saw it before. My father is Preston Brown the one kneeling in front of the truck. I Miss You Daddy RIP. This group never really got the Praise they deserved for being one of the founding groups of quartet gospel singers. May God continue to bless them. I will also miss my uncle Bobby who just passed on Sat. June 28.
