Soulful Gospel Messengers - He Let Me Cross Over

Soulful Gospel Messengers - He Let Me Cross Over

The Soulful Gospel Messengers, or Gospel Messengers as they are sometimes named, recorded five albums for J&B. The group was made up of members from Willie Banks & the Messengers. The group was based in Jackson, Mississippi. The Soulful Gospel Messengers should not be confused with the Gospel Messengers who recorded for Glori. Rev. Curtis Watson is the lead singer of the Soulful Gospel Messengers. Watson recorded in 1976 an EP for Jewel. Other members, beside Curtis Watson, are Willie Mitchell (bass), Henry Wesley (rhythm guitar) and Joshua Stewart (drums).
"He Let Me Cross Over" is taken from the album "God's Love" (J&B LP0031) and was released in 1981. It was their first album on J&B.
