Hightones - Making A Living Is Not Making A Life
Hummingbird is an Milwaukee, Wisconsin based label as we've seen in a previous entry, about little is known. The name of producer B. Witherspoon appears on several of the Hummingbird releases, so we guess that he's also the owner of the label. About The Hightones we don't know anything at all. Their 45 for Hummingbird seems to be the only recording they ever made. "Making A Living Is Not Making A Life" is nice mid tempo gospel song with some very good guitar work by L.W. Jennings.
Another very nice one, on what I think is a great little label, but know really nothing about. The only one other one I can think of on Hummingbird is the Christian Harmonizers' terrific album, DON'T NEED NO DOCTOR, which I'm pretty sure has been discussed on this blog already.
