Bethlehem Gospel Singers - My God Can See You
Bethlehem Gospel Singers - My God Can See You

Or isn't this the way Sullivan moved his business?
When you listen to the Bethlehem Gospel Singers - My God Can See You (HSE 382) you will hear after about 2 1/2 minutes references being made to the assassinations of Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. This indicates that the recording was made not before the second half of 1968.
According to what we know so far about Hoyt Sullivan business locations this must indicate a Greenwood,SC address. Look at the bottom of the labelscan:
P.O. Box 653, Nashville, Tenn.
This doesn't make sense or the up till now common opinion also shared by me that Sullivan moved to Nashville around 1974 isn't true. I think it's the last. We have to change our opinion about Sullivan moving business. It gets even more complicated or interesting when you look at some HSE releases who have a different Greenwood,SC P.O. Box number than the Greenwood P.O. Box number Hoyt Sullivan used in the early years. More on that in the coming days.
As I'm still figuring out when Sullivan changed adresses all help is appreciated.

I bought gospel LPs and 45s from Hoyt Sullivan in his Nashville office in April 1975, so he was there by then, at least. At that time he also delivered one of my favorite record quotes, "The two dirtiest businesses in this country are the record business and the religion business--and I'm in both of them!!!"
