The Relatives - Rap On

The Relatives - Rap On

Yesterday I made one suggestion for your Christmas shopping list. Today I have another one. It's "Don't Let Me Fall" by The Relatives on glorious vinyl. The album was released earlier on this year by Heavy Light Records. The Relatives were formed in 1970 by Gean West and his brother Tommy. Prior to leading his own group, Gean West had been a member of The Southernaires, The Sensational Golden Knights and The Mighty Golden Voices. The Relatives made their recording debut on Lewis in 1971. Their second 45 was released on Hosanna Records. In 1975 they recorded one more 45 for a local Dallas label, but as with all of their recordings it 'never made a splash outside of Dallas and has remained like their other recordings virtually unknown even among serious record collectors'.
But that has changed. Now everyone with the slightest interest in seventies gospel can buy all of the recordings ever made by The Relatives on vinyl. For those who arent' into vinyl, you can also buy and download the mp3 version of the album. Buying the mp3s will mean that you'll have to miss the beautiful pictures and liner notes that come with the real album.
